Features
Listed on this page are just some of the many new features to EM Track-III. The product has been overhauled to provide users maximum flexibility and ease of data entry. Fully backward compatible with previous versions, EM Track-III boasts a new Microsoft Explorer style toolbar which helps provide users a more efficient data input experience.
Starting with program release 3.5.16 tire tread depths for the most commonly used tire brands, types and sizes are known to EM Track-III. The respective fields are automatically populated for yo whenever you add a new tire to your inventory.
An optional feature, EM Track-III permits users to track their Fleet's rims right along side their tires. To track a rim, users must enable the feature in the Account Detail Screen then enter each rim into the system, just like they would a tire. You can then either mount a tire/casing to the rim or install it directly onto a vehicle.
Another optional feature enabled in the Account Detail Screen, users can choose to differentiate between those tires in their inventory which are one-piece and those which are two-piece. Now that Goodyear's patented two-piece tire is reality, EM Track-III can store tires as either Fixed Tread or Removable Tread.
Set in the Account Detail Screen, this value determines how many Non Skid (NS) measurements the system will support for this account. The default is one and the maximum is three. If the setting is more than one, the system automatically averages the values.
Considered by many as the main focus of the program, this is where the majority of your work will get done. With the added ability to install rims and casings, this screen has been rebuilt to accommodate the increased workload.
In an effort to make the system more user friendly, EM Track-III now sports a secondary toolbar similar to that which appears in all Microsoft Office programs. Through icon and tool-tip association, users should recognize standard Windows functionality such as Open, Add New, Delete, Edit, Copy, Search, Filter, and Print. Additionally, users will appreciate the use of standard keyboard shortcuts (such as Control+"S" to Save) to make data entry a lot easier. (For a list of all keyboard shortcuts, simply view each main menu option. If a shortcut exists, it will appear to the right of the option.)
If a problem occurs and the user has email/internet capability, one can write a brief description of the problem and send a message directly to technical support! Optional features include the ability to automatically send a screen capture and include a copy of the database as an attachment.
Depending on the users comfort level, one may decide whether or not to display such features as the Main Toolbar, the bottom Status Bar, or Large Edit Buttons at the bottom of the screen.
As the user sees fit, he/she may periodically choose this option to download updates off the internet as they become available. It is important to keep EM Track-III running with the most recent version.
Updates are free for users with a current support contract.
Users are now asked to enter the Account Detail Screen in order to Import or Backup another account. The functionality of these utilities has not changed.
Wheel position naming convention is now located in table maintenance:Wheel Configuration
New/additional configuration(s) are declared there as well.
Whenever situations arise which prompt users to make a copy of the current screen, they may do so by simply clicking on the Printer icon from the small toolbar. This action sends a screen capture to the printer. Selecting the "File \ Copy Screen to Clipboard" menu option (or pressing Control+B) captures the current screen into memory. This is useful for pasting information into separate documents.
When viewing reports, users may export the report into Microsoft Word (.doc), Portable Data Format (.pdf) or Excel (.xls) formats with a few mouse clicks. Previous versions did not export some reports very well. From the report viewer, click the Export button on the toolbar for a list of export options.
